GSU reiterates school uniform demand
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Galo Students Union (GSU) has called on the Deputy Commissioner, West Siang to immediately stop further dispatch of school uniforms to various schools of West Siang district. Earlier, the GSU members had said that uniforms are of small sizes with a very low quality. Now that the uniforms have been dispatched despite our repeated appeals, we are receiving numerous complaints from the students as well as the parents, it said.
Despite repeated submission of representations not to dispatch the school uniforms without properly verifying the size as well as quality, the DDSE has dispatched the school uniforms to most of the schools under the district, the students said. It also called for recall of all the unfit uniforms which had been dispatched earlier by the office of DDSE, Aalo as well as stoppage of payment to the uniform supplier till the issue is sorted out.
The union appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to personally intervene and address the concerns raised by the GSU.

ITANAGAR, Nov 19: The All Galo Youth Organization (AGYO) has reacted to a news report with the headline “Come to state or resign: Orgs to rebel MLAs” saying that it is not party to it. A news report was published on the edition of November 18 wherein All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Forum (AAPYF), Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Organization (APSO) and AGYO had come down against the rebel MLAs.
AGYO was never consulted, nor it gave any approval for such press statement, it claimed in a release.

ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Chief Minister has expressed deep sense of sorrow and shock over the sudden demise of Late D Ngemu, who was a LDC in the state government service. Ngemu had met with an accident during election duty at Kurung Kumey in 2014 and was referred to GNRC Guwahati. He could not recuperate from the injury and after more than a year, he succumbed to injuries at a Guwhati Hospital. The CM remembered Ngemu for his sincerity and devotion towards his duties.

identified as Sultana Parbin, a 13-
The girl died on the spot after being hit by Scorpio, Biswanath Charali SP informed. SP further added that vehicle belonged to a Deputy Director of Horticulture. The driver and vehicle were later detained by Assam police at Jamugrihat Police Station. A case was registered with Sootea police station (case number 209/15 U/S 279/304(A)/427 IPC).
The incident fueled public anger, as many vehicles coming from Bomdila, Guwahati and Seppa were reportedly attacked and pelted stone by students and the public.
“Considering the situation, we had to detain Arunachal registered vehicles at BiswanathCharali Police Station to avert untoward incident and safety of the passengers, SP added.
Many Tata Sumos plying from Itanagar had to return. Sources informed that as many as fifty Arunachal registered vehicles were stranded at Biswanath Charali and Choibari after the incident.
“My vehicle has been damaged by the mob, while I was crossing Sootia” said Tango Sonam, a government employee who was coming from Bomdila to Itanagar.
Later, the stranded vehicles were escorted out safely by Assam police assisted by Papum Pare SP PN Khrimey who rushed to spot after being informed about the incident. The police source informed that the situation is now back to normal after the arrest of Scorpio driver.
BDO under scanner for MGNREGA funds misappropriation, PRI leaders demand action

In its letter to Principal Secretary Vigilance, the PRI leaders headed by ZPM 9 Papu Valley (East) Mering Natung and Anchal Chairperson, 9 Papu Valley (East)Memak Tana claimed that after receiving the amount, the BDO/PO fraudulently withdrew the money without knowledge and consent of concern Gram Panchayat.
The withdrawn amount which was supposed to be paid to the beneficiaries was transferred to his personal account and personally withdrawn to several account by showing bogus procurement materials without the consent of Chairperson of respective Gram Panchayats, PRI leaders further claimed. The amount actually was to be deposited in the master account of MGNREGA, to be jointly operated by Programm Officer and an administrative/gazettes officer of block level, it added.
An enquiry Committee was constituted through ADC Seppa and the Deputy Commissioner has recommend to the Principal Secretary, Vigilance to initiate appropriate action against the BDO for misappropriation of MGNREGA fund.
The PRI leaders expressed its resentment that despite the recommendation, no disciplinary action has been initiated by the Vigilance Department so far and rather the BDO was transferred to Namsai CD Block.
According to supporting document, a criminal complaint case was filed before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Seppa and the Court had ordered and directed the O.C P.S Seppa to register a case and to submit the report.
Accordingly, it registered a case No. 113/2015 U/s 409/420/471/468/34 IPC.
Later the accused BDO moved anticipatory bail application before Gauhati High Court but same was rejected by the court.
RWD rejects BJP claims, says all norms followed
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Chief Executive Officer ARRDA, RWD has denied that there was any partiality in the payment of PMGSY contractors or floating of norms. The accusation made by BJP’s Joint Action Committee is incorrect, it said.
“Payment was released after fulfilling all PMGSY norms to 56 contractors. Naturally bills of many contractors could not be cleared and as alleged no partiality was done. In fact, massive exercise was carried out to verify the bills raised by the contractors by cross engaging the SEs and EEs/PIUs. Tawang reels under acute power problem
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Acute power supply crisis has heavily affected Tawang and the tourist town is reeling under darkness since last one month. Highlighting the adverse affects of the power cut in Tawang, The Humanity Group, a Tawang based NGO stated that the people of Tawang had to be content with only five to seven hours of power supply before, but now since last few weeks the town is receiving only two hours of power supply.
The inadequate power supply has adversely affected the tourists coming to Tawang as the flow of tourist is increasing year after year. Basic amenities like lodging, transportation etc are provided by the locals to the tourists and the absence of power supply has affected both tourists and locals alike. Small businesses like cyber café, motor garage etc dependent on electricity have been rendered functionless. Even the ATMs are not working and charging a cell phone is out of question, added the release.
The public and villagers of the area have been waiting patiently to see the restoration of power but the situation has not improved. While, the bungalows of the VIPs and the VIP colonies have uninterrupted power supply, the schools and offices are reeling under the power cut, added the release. According to the NGO, Tawang has mini hydel projects with a total generating capacity of 18.4 MW and the 6.8 MW is required to fulfill the power demands of whole Tawang, but only 2.5 MW is being generated from all the hydel projects at present.
Further citing official apathy and bad execution of works, the Humanity Group stated that a 6 megawatt hydel station at Shakang–Chhu (Gongkhar Village) was completed and commissioned, but just after few weeks of operation, the hydel station failed due to poor construction and cheap machineries.

Awareness programme on Dengue held
ITANAGAR, Nov 19: An awareness programme to sensitize people on the causes, prevention, control and cure for Dengue was organised by the Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) in collaboration with the District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, Yupia at Chandranagar today.
Addressing the programme, the DC Capital Complex, Mige Kamki informed that stagnant water even in discarded containers and bottles acts as the breeding ground for Dengue mosquito and asked everyone to keep their surroundings clean and dry. He also urged the people to break the plastic bottles completely before throwing them into dust bins to ensure that there is no possibility of reuse.
Informing that the administration had already banned use of plastic, and yet it was very much in use, DC Kamki further appealed everyone to dispose plastic bottles by burning or rendering it unfit for reuse. He also informed that the Capital administration had already carried out an eviction drive earlier to remove construction materials, woods, bamboos and other materials lying along the RoW of the National Highway, adding further that the Capital administration would very soon carry out the next drive. He also lauded the IMC for the effort from their side.
IMC Chief Councillor, Kipa Kaku informed that the IMC is trying its best for proper garbage management system in the Capital Complex. She further appealed the public to cooperate with the IMC and to throw garbage at designated places. She also asked the people to become watchdogs and inform if they found any one littering. We could also impose certain fine on the defaulters, this way public would be aware and think twice before littering, said the Chief Councillor.
Highlighting the importance of the awareness programme, DMO Yupia, S Ronya informed that among the North Eastern states, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam has the most number of Dengue cases and further emphasized on the need to keep the surroundings clean and maintain proper disposal of garbage.
Later in the technical session, Dr. Tana Aruna Likha, District VBDCP Officer informed that the Dengue fever is a most common mosquito borne viral disease caused by infection with a virus transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. There is no drug or vaccine against Dengue infection but timely diagnosis and treatment on the basis of symptoms can cure the patients. Delay in treatment of Dengue cases may lead to complications and in some cases to death.
Earlier, CMEO Habung Lampung informed that it is an effort towards making the Capital Complex Dengue free. He further asked everyone to pass on the information that they learnt today to others.DIPRO
Techi Kaso bereaved, CM mourns

local MLA Techi Kaso left for her heavenly abode while in sleep at the residence
of her son, Techi Gamro here on the intervening night of Wednesday-
She was 95, and is survived by her three sons, two daughters, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Speaker Nabam Rebia, APCCI general secretary Tarh Nachung, host of officers, PRI leaders & traders arrived early morning to join the family in mourning.
“I was with her on Wednesday and she told me that her time was ripe to go and wished us all to live in peace while marching forward for progress,” Kaso said.
“My father Techi Hita passed away on 02.07.02 and she nurtured us with great care and love”, Kaso said, adding that “I contested three elections with her blessings. She would be waiting to receive me on my return after victory. I have become broke in this mortal world with my mother gone,” Kaso continued.
The mortal remains, taken in a procession to Kaso’s village Borum, near here, would be kept for the people to pay their last respects. The last rites would be performed there traditionally on Friday noon, Kaso informed.

In a release, APCC has offered prayers for eternal peace of the departed soul and to bestow strength to the bereaved family members to bear the loss. Further, Nirjuli Market Welfare Committee has deeply mourned the demise of Techi Meka. The NMWC members downed their shutters till 12 noon today as a mark of respect for the departed soul.

Reduce air pollution
Dear Editor'
This is regarding level of air pollution which seems to be growing more in big towns and cities.
Recently, I traveled to Itanagar where I could detect the most dangerous level of air pollution due to various reasons.
We know that polluted air affects our respiratory system and all types of fatal diseases are invited by it. Animals, birds and humans of all age group die due to pollution.
As a concern human being, I want to find simple ways to reduce the quantum of air pollution. Our govt is initiating needful step to reduce its quantum by carrying out mass awareness about it.
However, I do not think govt alone would be able to reduce the dangerous level of air pollution so it is high time for common people to plant green saplings to refresh and reduce the air pollution. If we are dedicated and determined to stop pollution, we can live in peace and liberated from air pollution.
To plant green saplings is simple and its job is noble.

The Nyishi Community vehemently condemns the lesser known organization of Arunachal Justice Forum (AJP) who during its Dharna at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, has used our traditional dress of our community. No individual is allowed to misuse the traditional dress of any community or tribe.
It is therefore also warned that individual member of the so called justice forum refrain from such malafide intention for achieving their selfish political ends.
Therefore, enough is enough, we warn such forces to refrain themselves as we have tolerated to the upper limit of patience and urge upon them to come back to our social fold in the best interest of the community.
